Thanks for the interest! We are taking a break from CSA this season (2024-2025), as we settle in to our new property and plan for the season ahead.

What is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture, CSA for short, is similar to a veggie box subscription yet a little more significant. CSA offers a weekly share of organic produce to families that purchase a season long share.

By purchasing a share, you are forging a relationship with the farm and becoming a direct supporter of the local food economy.

In exchange for committing to a seasonal share, we are committed to providing nourishing and delicious vegetables along with recipes and food inspiration.

We loved being a part of Laughing Pukeko Organics CSA share this season, the value for money was incredible and the quality of the veges and fruit were impeccable.

As a household of just two adults it certainly increased our weekly vege intake and we both feel healthier for it. I believe it has had a positive effective on our mental wellbeing through increased nutrient intake fueling our brains and bodies.

The Minor Details

  • The share will be billed all at once. While it helps us to receive payment once for the course of the season, allowing us to focus our energy on growing & harvesting, we understand this may not be feasible for many people and therefore we can split the bill over several payments.
  • Each week you'll receive a newsletter with farm updates, recipes, inspiration, and veggie storage tips.
  • CSA members will be invited to a member-only end of season picnic on the farm.
  • CSA members are welcome to visit the farm anytime, upon arrangement.
  • We aim to grow 100% of whats in our box, but occasionally buy in produce from other local, organic farms to add variety or due to crop failure. We will always disclose this to our members.
  • Satisfaction is our aim! If you are dissatisfied with your membership or move out of town, please get in touch. We will issue a refund on a pro-rated basis.

Is CSA Right for Me?

While we would ultimately love to see all households purchase their weekly veggies directly from a farmer, we know it's not the right fit for every family. Ask yourself if these are important to you:

  • Do you see benefit in supporting local, organic farming?
  • Do you value forging a relationship with your farmer?
  • Will you support occasionally seeing ugly vegetables, or insects in your produce?
  • Do you have time to cook at least 3 times per week?
  • Are you adventurous in the kitchen?

If you said YES to most of these questions, we reckon CSA would be a good fit for you!
